Barcelona's Xavi laments Getafe stalemate

Xavi admits that Barcelona's goalless draw with Getafe in La Liga was far from satisfactory.

Barcelona midfielder Xavi could not conceal his disappointment after their goalless draw with Getafe in La Liga on Saturday.

Luis Enrique's side were unable to break down their stubborn hosts, and Xavi admitted that the result was far from satisfactory.

"The draw was a negative result, but the team came here with a positive dynamic and followed it through," the 34-year-old told reporters after the game. "There is much competition, but it's a step back for us.

"It was a game that we'd usually win, but if you don't open the can then it becomes difficult. Defensively they were very strong. We had four good chances but failed to take advantage of them.

"It depends on what the Coach wants, but we can adapt to one system or another. We feel good in both [systems]. The team put together a lot of attacks, but the ball didn't want to go in today."

The draw leaves Barca four points behind La Liga leaders Real Madrid in the table.
