Everton are reportedly ready to launch a bid for Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti during the January transfer window.

Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Everton.

A number of injuries have led to the 2018 World Cup winner dropping down the pecking order at Camp Nou, resulting in no appearances being made under recently-appointed boss Ronald Koeman.

With the Catalan giants needing to raise funds for new arrivals, the France international has allegedly been made available ahead of the January window.

According to reports in Spain, Everton are one of the clubs who are willing to discuss a deal for the centre-back at the midway point of the campaign.

Barcelona are allegedly prepared to lower their £10.7m asking price, something which would almost certainly result in competition emerging for Umtiti's signature.

Despite a strong start to the season, Everton have now conceded 17 goals from their 10 matches in the Premier League.
