Roma manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly identified Barcelona midfielder Riqui Puig as an ideal signing.
The 22-year-old was heavily linked with a move away from Camp Nou over the summer, and his deal with Ronald Koeman's side has just under two years left to run.
Puig has been seldom used by Koeman this term - with 17-year-old Gavi preferred in the middle of the pitch - and he is once again being tipped to end his Blaugrana stint in 2022.
Atletico Madrid and Manchester City have previously been credited with an interest in Puig, but Sport claims that Roma are now hoping to win the race for the Spaniard's signature.
The report adds that Puig has always been determined to fight for his place at Camp Nou, but he could look to force a move away in January if his playing situation does not improve.
Puig has featured in Barcelona's last four La Liga games as a substitute and boasts a total of one goal and three assists in 43 appearances for the club.
