Newcastle United have reportedly enquired about a move for Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet.
The Magpies have been linked with a host of big-names since their £300m Saudi-backed takeover was given the green light, with Philippe Coutinho and Mauro Icardi both said to be on the club's radar.
Newcastle also supposedly want to make Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly their first 'marquee signing' of the new era, but another centre-back has supposedly caught the eye of the Magpies.
According to Sport, Lenglet is a player that Newcastle 'like a lot', even though the World Cup-winning Frenchman has fallen out of favour under Ronald Koeman.
The report adds that Newcastle will hope to secure a January deal for Lenglet - whose contract does not expire until 2026 - but they will save the bulk of their spending for next summer.
Lenglet has scored seven goals in 137 games for Barcelona across all tournaments but has only started one La Liga game so far this season.
