Ronaldo tips Neymar to shine

Former Brazil forward Ronaldo backs Barcelona attacker Neymar to shine at the World Cup.

Former Brazil forward Ronaldo has backed Neymar to shine at the World Cup.

Neymar, 22, has scored 31 times in his 48 caps for his country and Ronaldo believes that the Barcelona forward will lead his nation to success this summer.

"He's very good. Neymar is an incredible guy, a great player, a youngster like I was in the first World Cup I played, which was in '98. In '94 I was even younger but I didn't play," he told reporters.

"I'm sure he's very calm, he can handle the pressure well.

"He's a player who's shown that over and over. We have high hopes that he will be the best player in the tournament and that Brazil will be champions."

Ronaldo twice won the World Cup with Brazil and remains the tournament's all-time leading scorer.
