Bayer Leverkusen director of sport Rudi Voller has confirmed that the club have completed the signing of Andres Palop on a one-year contract.
The 39-year-old, whose contract with Sevilla was due to expire at the end of next month, will reportedly provide cover for Bernd Leno.
"Following the departure of Michael Rensing, we were looking for an experienced number two goalkeeper who we would have no qualms about playing, should Bernd Leno be unavailable," Voller told the club's official website.
"Bernd will be able to learn from him in training each day."
Leverkusen will compete in the Champions League next season.
