Franck Ribery out for week with buttock injury

Franck Ribery will miss at least a week after undergoing surgery on a burst blood vessel on his buttock.

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery will be out of action for at least a week having undergone surgery on a burst blood vessel on his buttock.

The injury could even see Ribery miss Bayern's Champions League clash against Arsenal on February 19, but the club have confirmed that more will be known after further tests.

"Franck is suffering from compartment syndrome," the club said in a statement. "We will know more after he's undergone further tests on Sunday."

Ribery has only just returned to the Bayern squad from injury, with the club's next game against Nuremberg on Saturday.
