Mario Gomez says that he would be "very happy" to join an Italian club this summer.

Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez has admitted that he would be "very happy" to move to a club in Serie A this summer.

The German international is widely expected to leave the Champions League winners and has been linked with both Fiorentina and Napoli.

The 27-year-old helped increase the speculation surrounding his future by claiming that he would be open to a switch to Italy over the coming months.

"Would I play in Italy? I'd be very happy to do that, I'd like it a lot," Gomez told Sky Sport Italia.

Gomez scored 19 goals in all competitions for Bayern last season.
