Sports Mole examines New Zealand's first match at the Olympics this summer against Belarus.

Neither of these nations are considered among the favourites to claim a medal in London this summer.

If truth be told, very few have tipped them to advance from a group that also includes Brazil and Egypt.

The favourites for tomorrow's encounter are Belarus largely thanks to having a squad dominated by players from BATE Borisov, who competed in the Champions League against the likes of Barcelona last season.

Striker Maksim Skavysh received numerous plaudits for his performances at home and domestically last season.

New Zealand are expected to be able call upon the experience duo of Queens Park Rangers defender Ryan Nelsen and Shane Smeltz.

Possible starting lineups:

Belarus: Gutor; Kuzmenok, Politevich, Vitus, Polyakov; Baga, Solovei, Bardini, Dragun; Skavysh, Voronkov

New Zealand: Gleeson; Hogg, Nelsen, Smith, Myers; Feneridis, Howieson, McGeorge, Barbarouses; Smeltz, Wood

Sports Mole says: 1-0
