Willy Sagnol has said that Bordeaux are making too many basic errors.
The French team has won just one out of their last nine matches in all competitions and sit just three points above the Ligue 1 relegation zone.
"We forget the basics very often," Sagnol told reporters.
"At the start of the season, we put that down to the inexperience and lack of maturity of some players. The more time passes, I think those aren't the real reasons.
"At a certain point, you have to know how to look at yourself in the mirror and to be aware of your real current level."
Les Girondins continue their Ligue 1 campaign against Troyes on Sunday.
