Bournemouth have reportedly reached an agreement to sign highly-rated youngster Matai Akinmboni from DC United.
The Cherries are currently in the hunt for European qualification after winning eight, drawing six and losing five of their 19 league matches.
As a result of that result, Bournemouth are sitting in seventh place in the Premier League table, with two points separating them from the European qualification spots.
Bournemouth now appear to be looking to add further depth to Andoni Iraola's squad to help maintain their European push in the second half of the season.

Bournemouth agree Akinmboni deal
According to The Telegraph, Bournemouth are on the verge of adding a 'rising MLS talent' to Iraola's current defensive options.
The report claims that the Cherries have agreed a deal with DC United to sign 18-year-old Akinmboni for around £1m plus add-ons.
Bournemouth have acted swiftly to strike an agreement with the MLS franchise, so they can sign the youngster in the early stages of the January transfer window.
Akinmboni has already flown to England to complete his medical, with the teenager expected to be unveiled as a Bournemouth player in the coming days.
Who is Matai Akinmboni?
Akinmboni, who is the nephew of former Bayern Munich defender Samuel Kuffour, came through the youth ranks at DC United, before making his MLS debut as a 15-year-old under then-manager Wayne Rooney in September 2022.
The centre-back has gone on to feature in a total of 17 MLS matches, including eight appearances in the 2024 regular season.
Akinmboni has represented the USA at the youth level, and is tipped to force his way into the senior setup, although he is also eligible to play for Nigeria and Ghana.
Despite Akinmboni's limited first-team experience, Bournemouth clearly view him as someone who has the potential to grow into a top-quality defender.
While he may be regarded as one for the future, he could still add useful depth to Iraola's central defensive options for the second half of the season.
