Alexandre Pato: 'No Brazil striker better than me'

Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato suggests that there are no better strikers available for the national team than himself, despite not being called up since October 2013.

Sao Paulo striker Alexandre Pato has suggested that there are no Brazilian strikers better than himself, despite not being a part of the national squad for almost two years.

The 26-year-old - who left AC Milan for Brazilian outfit Corinthians in 2013 - has scored 10 goals in 27 appearances for Brazil, but has not featured for the national side since a 2-0 friendly victory over Zambia in October of that year.

Speaking to Brazilian television channel TV Bandeirantes, Pato said: "My goal is to return to the national team. There's a selection on Thursday, I have a lot of potential and I am prepared to be selected.

"I do not see anyone better than me. I can be there to help. I can play as a false nine, or as a right or left winger, but the decision remains in Dunga's hands. I have tried to help my teammates as much as I can."

Pato has scored 33 goals in 88 appearances for Sao Paulo.
