David Jones "looking forward" to Derby County return

David Jones hopes that Burnley can continue building momentum in the Championship when they travel to Derby County this evening.

Burnley midfielder David Jones has admitted that he is "looking forward" to his side's meeting against fellow promotion chasers Derby County.

The Clarets head into the match on the back of a strong run in the Championship, having won each of their last four games.

That impressive form has left Burnley sitting in fourth place, with a game in hand still to play on those around them, but they face one of their biggest tests of the season when travelling to the iPro Stadium this evening.

"I feel as the season has gone on we've grown in our performances and we've got a little bit of momentum," the former Rams player is quoted as saying by the Derby Telegraph. "To win four games in a row in any league is a difficult thing and we'll be looking to continue that good run of form.

"We'll be going into the game knowing it's a tough one but we'll hopefully we can continue and even build on what we've done so far. You want to be playing in big games and we experienced that last season in the Premier League.

"Derby usually get a full house and they'll be one of the teams pushing for promotion. They've spent a lot of money and they've got players and it'll be a test but we're looking forward to it."

Derby themselves made a slow start to the campaign, but they have recently won back-to-back games for the first time to climb into the top half of the table.
