Burnley score one goal to beat Hull City at Turf Moor.

Martin Paterson scored the only goal of the game as Burnley beat Hull City at Turf Moor this afternoon.

The former Stoke City striker fired the hosts ahead after Hull failed to clear a long pass from goalkeeper Lee Grant, allowing Paterson to pounce on the loose ball and launch it into the back of the net from close range.

Tigers midfielder Robert Koren came closest for the visitors within minutes of the restart, but sent his shot inches wide of the post.

With the win, the Clarets reduce the deficit between both clubs to three points.
