Cambridge United swoop for Piero Mingoia

Midfielder Piero Mingoia swaps one League Two club for another as he leaves Accrington Stanley to join Cambridge United.

Piero Mingoia has agreed a two-year contract with Cambridge United.

The 24-year-old has arrived at the Abbey Stadium following a stint with Accrington Stanley, whom he helped to reach the League Two playoffs last season.

"I'm absolutely delighted to get the deal done with the club," the midfielder told the club's official website.

"It was a tough decision to leave Accrington, but I was really attracted to what the club want to do here and the fact that the manager showed a real interest in me."

Mingoia started his career in the youth ranks of Premier League side Watford.
