Charlton Athletic manager Chris Powell has called on his side to "soldier on" after they fell to their fourth defeat in six league games on Tuesday night.
The Addicks lost 2-1 to Watford on Tuesday to leave the club in 20th place in the Championship table, but Powell has insisted that his side are close to turning the corner.
Powell told BBC London 94.9: "Things aren't falling for us and when you are down there, that happens. We've got to soldier on.
"We are very close but we are getting hurt. We keep knocking on the door and it's just not falling for us and people are throwing their bodies in the way.
"It's been very up and down for us. I don't think I envisaged us having a season like we did last year but it's a very unforgiving league."
Charlton will play Blackpool on Saturday.
