Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Chelsea could line up for Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final second leg with Real Madrid.

Chelsea will have to make do without suspended left-back Ben Chilwell for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final with Real Madrid on Tuesday at Stamford Bridge.

The Englishman was given a straight red card for a last-man foul on Rodrygo during the first leg - which Real won 2-0 - so Marc Cucurella should strut his stuff on the left-hand side this week.

Joining Chilwell on the absentee list are Kalidou Koulibaly, who sustained a hamstring problem at the Bernabeu, and long-term knee victim Armando Broja, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Kai Havertz and Carney Chukwuemeka have all trained after sustaining knocks.

With Koulibaly out and Benoit Badiashile ineligible, Frank Lampard may stick to a four-man backline, as Wesley Fofana and the returning Thiago Silva protect Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Reece James should come straight back in for Trevoh Chalobah on the right-hand side, while a well-rested N'Golo Kante is in line to displace Denis Zakaria in the engine room.

Conor Gallagher's performance was one of a few positives to take from Saturday's defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion, but Mateo Kovacic may now be preferred alongside Kante and Enzo Fernandez in the midfield trident.

Lampard is confident that Havertz's knee issue will not keep him out of the second leg, so the German could very well be recalled to spearhead the charge in place of the ineffective Raheem Sterling.

Joao Felix for Christian Pulisic should be another straight swap, but Mykhaylo Mudryk may have played his way into a start thanks to his clever assist for Gallagher at the weekend.

Chelsea possible starting lineup: Kepa; James, Fofana, Silva, Cucurella; E. Fernandez, Kante, Kovacic; Mudryk, Havertz, Felix
