Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero expects Chelsea to drop points

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is confident that title rivals Chelsea will drop points before the end of the season.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has claimed that title rivals Chelsea are certain to drop points before the end of the season.

Aguero scored the winning goal on Sunday as City earned a 1-0 win at home to Manchester United, keeping them six points behind unbeaten Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Despite the modest lead that Jose Mourinho's side has opened up at the top of the table, Aguero is hopeful that he and his teammates can cut the gap.

"It is important to win. Chelsea are doing very well and they keep winning but we have to go on and I'm sure they will drop some points," the Argentine international told the club's official website.

"They play at Liverpool next weekend and we will see if they drop points but the important thing is that we have to win games."

Manchester City return to Champions League action on Wednesday when they welcome CSKA Moscow to the Etihad Stadium.
