Bevan: 'Chelsea are embarrassing'

LMA chief executive Richard Bevan brands Chelsea "embarrassing" following their eighth managerial sacking in nine years.

League Managers' Association chief executive Richard Bevan has slammed Chelsea for sacking manager Andre Villas-Boas.

The Portuguese coach was dismissed from Stamford Bridge after just 27 Premier League games and nine months in charge.

Bevan believes that the former English champions need to build a structure that will bring future success to the Blues as opposed to the recent managerial merry-go-round.

"What's for sure is the club, despite unlimited wealth, haven't yet worked out how to build a successful football club. Looking for what is an eighth manager in nine years is a serious embarrassment to the owner, the club, the fans and the league," Bevan told BBC Radio Five Live.

"[Villas-Boas] was very disappointed, frustrated, saddened, but his thoughts were for the club, the fans and indeed Roberto Di Matteo, wishing him well for the rest of the season."

Reports have claimed that club owner Roman Abramovich has blamed a number of senior players for forcing Villas-Boas out of Stamford Bridge.
