Frank Lampard has apologised to Wolves midfielder Adam Hammill for a tackle made during Chelsea's 2-1 win at Molineux.
Lampard received a yellow card for his challenge on Hammill in the first half but it appeared that the England midfielder was lucky to stay on the pitch.
The 33-year-old admitted: "My heart was in my mouth over that challenge. There was no malice but I was late and I might have been a bit lucky to stay on the pitch. Straight away I said to Hammill I was very sorry."
Andre Villas-Boas's side went on to win the game following an 89th-minute winner from Lampard.
The west London club climbed to 4th place in the league table due to Arsenal's failure to beat Fulham.
