Jose Mourinho: 'Liverpool have more time to prepare than rivals'

Jose Mourinho reiterates his opinion that Liverpool's good form is largely down to their lack of involvement in Europe.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has reiterated his stance that Liverpool are enjoying a good season due to their lack of European football.

The Blues boss claimed that the Reds have an "advantage" over their rivals due to them not playing in Europe this season at a press conference ahead of the sides' meeting, and he once again gave that opinion to Sky Sports News.

He said: "I make the point, and I hope my friend (Liverpool manager) Brendan Rodgers will not get upset with me, but there is a point that they don't play in European competition, and that is crucial.

"They have time to train, to get ready for games, to be tactically prepared for every game. Other teams do not have that."
