John Obi Mikel: 'I want to move on from racism row'

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel admits that he wants to move on from the racism row that involved himself and referee Mark Clattenburg.

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has revealed that he would have "no problem" if Mark Clattenburg were chosen to referee a Chelsea match in the future.

Clattenburg was found not guilty of making a racist remark towards Mikel during Chelsea's 3-2 defeat to Manchester United in October, and the Nigerian midfielder says that he hopes he and Clattenburg can move on after the month-long saga.

Mikel told reporters: "I think now it is done I am glad it is over. I am sure he is glad it is over as well and the FA is glad it is all put to bed and we can move on from here.

"Everything is put to bed, we move on. If he refereed a game, there would certainly be no problem."

Mikel is currently serving a three-match ban after being found guilty of abusive behaviour towards Clattenburg at the conclusion of the same match.
