Denis Suarez's agent Felix Gende has suggested that Barcelona will not grant the outcast midfielder a move away from the club next month.
The 24-year-old has been strongly linked with a switch to Chelsea or AC Milan in recent weeks, while Marseille have also emerged as another interested party.
Suarez, restricted to appearances in cup competitions this term, admitted after Barca's Copa del Rey win over Cultural Leonesa - a game in which he scored twice - that he is unhappy with his lack of minutes.
Amid talk of Chelsea preparing a cash offer for the Spain international, however, agent Gende has cast doubt on a mid-season exit.
"I think it is difficult for Denis to leave FC Barcelona this winter, either by means of a loan or a transfer," he told Fichajes
"Marseille has never called us. It's a complicated situation, but he has confidence in his work to reverse the trend."
Suarez rejoined Barcelona from Villarreal in 2016 and has made 44 La Liga appearances for the club.
