Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford is "edging close" to a loan switch to Burnley, the Clarets have confirmed.
The 22-year-old has been sought by a number of clubs this transfer window, including Championship sides Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Fulham and Queens Park Rangers, but Bamford is thought to have opted for a move to Sean Dyche's side with the hopes of playing regular top-flight football.
"Patrick is close. It's just a few i's getting dotted and t's getting crossed," Dyche told the club's website after their 3-0 defeat at Chelsea today.
"There are a number of other things closer too, but we still have to get them over the line, so we'll wait and see."
Bamford had disappointing loan spells at Crystal Palace and Norwich City last term but found game time hard to come by, making just 13 appearances combined.
