Chelsea are reportedly in negotiations with Brazilian club Internacional over a possible swoop for Chilean star Charles Aranguiz.
Arsenal were thought to be interested in the midfielder, with the Gunners believed to be lining him up to partner Alexis Sanchez in attack.
However, the Daily Star claims that Chelsea are now in pole position to sign the international.
It is thought that Internacional are not willing to do business while they have the prospect of a Copa Libertadores tie against Tigres.
Chelsea have a good relationship with the South American giants, having signed Oscar from the club in 2012, and a bid of around £8m may convince the Brazilian outfit to sell.
