Chelsea are reportedly interested in a January move for Everton star Ross Barkley.
The 19-year-old has been a regular fixture in the first team since Roberto Martinez took over at Goodison Park, and even earned an England call-up.
According to The Mirror, the Blues are lining up a £20m move in January, however there are fears that a move to Chelsea could ruin his chances of going to the World Cup next summer.
England boss Roy Hodgson is keen for Barkley to remain at Everton, where he will play regular football, after admitting that the youngster is on his radar.
The teenager's current deal runs out in 2016 but Everton are said to be readying an extension which will included a significant wage increase.
Chelsea are likely to offer an even bigger contract though and are looking at Barkley as a replacement for Juan Mata, who Jose Mourinho is still unsure about.
Gareth Barry, who is on loan on Everton from Manchester City, recently revealed that he thinks Goodison Park is the best place for Barkley to develop.
