Roberto Di Matteo dismisses reports that Chelsea are willing to swap Fernando Torres for Atletico Madrid striker Falcao.

Chelsea's interim boss Roberto Di Matteo has dismissed speculation that the club are prepared to offer Fernando Torres as bait to land Atletico Madrid striker Falcao.

Reports had claimed that Torres, who began his career with Atletico, would consider a return to his native Spain this summer.

That led some to conclude that the Blues would see it as the perfect opportunity to land Colombian international Falcao in return.

However, Di Matteo believes that Torres will still be at Stamford Bridge next season.

"This is only speculation," Di Matteo told reporters. "I have a great relationship with Fernando, and I believe he will be here next season."

Torres joined Chelsea from Liverpool for £50m in January 2011.
