Radamel Falcao's father confirms striker will not leave Chelsea for Chinese club

Radamel Falcao's father confirms that the striker will end the season at Chelsea, despite being linked with a big-money move to the Chinese Super League.

Radamel Falcao's father has confirmed that the striker will remain with Chelsea until the end of the season, despite rumoured interest from the lucrative Chinese Super League.

The Colombian international has struggled to make an impact during his loan spell at Stamford Bridge having scored just one goal.

There were reports that Falcao could return to his parent club AS Monaco during the January transfer window or be shipped elsewhere.

It has also been reported that Chinese outfit Jiangsu Suning are keen on Falcao, but the forward's father Radamel Garcia has insisted that he will stay in West London.

"I was with him about a month ago," the London Evening Standard quotes Garcia as saying. "He was very well, he knows how to handle these things. He was positive, every day preparing to come back. These injuries are normal in football.

"He likes challenges. He will keep playing in Chelsea until the end of the season. Many things can happen, he can start scoring goals and people can realise his importance.

"He is not thinking about moving to China at all. He is just thinking about playing for Chelsea."

Falcao also failed to impress during his loan spell at Manchester United last season.
