Former Everton striker Andy Gray has suggested that John Stones would be a great replacement for John Terry at Chelsea.
The Toffees have reportedly turned down a £20m bid from the reigning Premier League champions for the 21-year-old defender.
Gray has claimed that England international Stones would develop under the right guidance at Stamford Bridge.
"John Stones is good and he could be one of the best. He's got every quality that you need to be a top centre-back," Gray told talkSPORT.
"He seems to have a good personality and is good on the football. Maybe he's just a little bit too elaborate at times for a young boy at centre-back, but that's more about his confidence than anything else.
"If you're losing John Terry in the next year to 18 months, and you're asking me whether he's a player who would fit in at Chelsea, then 100%. It makes absolute sense. He's British, which helps. He might cost £30million but he can only get better under the right guidance."
Stones made 28 appearances for Everton last season.
