William Hill cut the odds of David Luiz leaving Chelsea before the new season starts following the return of Jose Mourinho.

One bookmaker has shortened the odds of David Luiz departing Chelsea this summer to 8/11 following the reappointment of Jose Mourinho.

It was confirmed yesterday afternoon that following a six-year exile, 50-year-old Mourinho had returned to Stamford Bridge with a contract that is due to run until 2017.

However, despite having made 97 appearances in all competitions for the Blues over the past two seasons, it has been reported that Mourinho is open to the possibility of parting with Brazilian defender Luiz.

Barcelona have also been linked with a move for the 26-year-old, which has resulted in William Hill cutting the odds of Luiz being at Stamford Bridge when the new Premier League season gets underway in August.

He joined Chelsea in January 2011 from Portuguese side Benfica.
