David Luiz: 'John Terry must get Chelsea deal'

David Luiz says that John Terry's performances for Chelsea have earned him a new contract.

David Luiz has claimed that John Terry's form for Chelsea this season has all but secured him a new deal at the club.

The ex-England captain is out of contract with the Blues at the end of the season, but the Brazilian defender believes that the West London outfit will not make the same mistake with Terry as they did when Frank Lampard left the club on a free transfer last summer.

Luiz is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "I played next to John for a long time. He is having another great season with Chelsea, maybe one of his best.

"I am sure there is no question about Chelsea renewing his contract for another season, with the way he is playing he has made it impossible for them not to.

"I do think Chelsea are the strongest team in England, and although there are many games left, I think they will win the league."

Luiz is likely to play for Paris Saint-Germain against Chelsea when the sides meet in the Champions League second round next month.
