Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal reveals that his side are hurting having been eliminated from the World Cup at the hands of Brazil on Saturday afternoon.

Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal has revealed his hurt at being eliminated at the last-16 stage of the World Cup against Brazil this afternoon.

Vidal has been one of the standout performers in South America, with the Juventus maestro also admitting that he is pleased with his team's effort despite the loss.

"It's really tough to go out like this," Vidal told reporters in Brazil.

"We played an excellent game and gave it our all. I am happy with the performance of my teammates.

"We tried to fight for a dream, but didn't succeed."

Brazil will now go on to face either Colombia or Uruguay in the quarter finals.
