Steven Pressley proud of Coventry City response

Coventry boss Steven Pressley is proud of his side for bouncing back from their shock FA Cup exit by beating Plymouth 2-0 in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Steven Pressley has said that he is proud of his Coventry City side following the 2-0 win over Plymouth Arygle in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy last night.

Second-half goals from Gary Madine and Frank Nouble proved enough for City to get back to winning ways after their shock FA Cup exit to Worcester City on Sunday.

Although Pressley is happy with the response, the Sky Blues boss says that it is merely a stepping stone on the road to redemption after that "unacceptable" defeat.

"I've said to the players that this was merely a step. There is a lot of work to do before we can put the disappointment of Sunday to bed," he told Sky Sports News.

"It was unacceptable for this proud football club but we reacted in the way that I would expect from players with pride and, in the end, we got a well-deserved victory.

"I am very proud of the reaction but that's the type of performance that I expect from a Coventry City side."

Coventry sit 19th in the League One table, two points above the relegation zone.
