Mile Jedinak: 'We cannot take our foot off the gas'

Crystal Palace captain Mile Jedinak calls on his side to retain their focus until the end of the season to finish the campaign on a high note.

Crystal Palace captain Mile Jedinak has insisted that his side cannot take their foot off the gas towards the climax of the season.

The Eagles secured their Premier League status courtesy of an excellent run of form which saw Alan Pardew's men win four games on the spin, including a 2-1 victory over Manchester City.

However, their winning run was ended in a 2-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion last week at Selhurst Park, leading Jedinak to call for focus from his teammates ahead of their match against Hull City.

Jedinak told the club's official website: "A lot of teams playing us between now and the end of the season have plenty to play for so we can't take our foot off the gas. We have to be prepared for that particularly when we're playing at home because we always want to improve our home record and keep Selhurst a fortress.

"There's a lot riding on the game for Hull but no-one should be taking it lightly, and I don't think we will, but it's up to us as individuals to put those things aside and play our game.

"Sometimes the best thing is not to worry what is at stake; if we bring the application, the performance and the result take care of themselves. That's what I've found in those situations and I'm sure some of the teams fighting in the relegation zone are the same but doing it is easier said than done."

Palace face Steve Bruce's men in their match later today.
