Derby County boss Paul Clement pleased with Charlton Athletic point

Derby County boss Paul Clement reveals that he was pleased with the commitment that his side showed to take a point from their Championship clash against Charlton Athletic.

Derby County boss Paul Clement has revealed that he was pleased to see his side earn a point in their Championship clash against Charlton Athletic.

The Rams fell behind early in the second half to a strike from Tony Watt, but the home side rallied to earn a share of the spoils as Chris Martin netted an equaliser for his team at the iPro Stadium.

Clement told the club's official website: "The players pushed right to the very end. We would have been extremely disappointed if we had come away with nothing based on the amount of possession that we had, the way that we controlled the game and with the amount of chances that we created.

"Charlton got a lot of players behind the ball, got their blocks in and everything they did get in the way of spun wide of the post; it was a resilient away performance from them.

"Our own performance was good and we created enough to have gone and won that game. I'm sure over the season we will play worse than that and get more points, but overall I'm positive and there is a lot to build on."

Derby face Middlesbrough in their next Championship outing on Tuesday.
