Tuesday's Scottish Premiership predictions including St Mirren vs. Celtic

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Scottish Premiership fixtures, including St Mirren vs. Celtic.

Dundee and St Johnstone will attempt to kick off the new year with a victory when they face off in Tuesday's Scottish Premiership clash at Dens Park.

The hosts are currently sitting in seventh place in the standings, while the Saints are three points further back in 10th position.

We say: Dundee 1-1 St Johnstone

Dundee and St Johnstone have both found wins hard to come by in recent times, and with their last three head-to-head meetings finishing all square, we think the two sides could play out another draw in Tuesday's contest.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Hibernian vs. Motherwell (Tuesday, 3.00pm)

Hibernian will look to bounce back from an Edinburgh derby defeat when they welcome Motherwell to Easter Road for Tuesday's Scottish Premiership fixture.

The visitors, meanwhile, will have the chance to claim consecutive victories after beating Livingston in their final match of 2023.

We say: Hibernian 2-0 Motherwell

Although Motherwell would have been buoyed by Saturday's win on home turf, they are currently winless in seven away matches.

We think Hibernian will take advantage of Motherwell's poor away form to return to winning ways following consecutive defeats.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Livingston vs. Hearts (Tuesday, 3.00pm)

Hearts make the trip to Livingston on Tuesday afternoon looking for the victory that will further strengthen their hold of third position in the Scottish Premiership standings.

In sharp contrast, the home side have become cut adrift in bottom spot, heaping the pressure on a revival starting in their first game of 2024.

We say: Livingston 1-3 Hearts

Having dropped points to Ross County, Naismith knows the dangers of facing teams towards the bottom of the standings. We feel that should sharpen Hearts' focus, however, and the visitors should run out convincing winners on their travels.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Rangers vs. Kilmarnock (Tuesday, 3.00pm)

Rangers play host to Kilmarnock on Tuesday afternoon knowing that a win is imperative if they want to keep any level of pressure on Celtic.

At a time when the home side sit eight points adrift of the leaders in the Scottish Premiership standings, Kilmarnock are fourth after putting together a prolonged undefeated run at the end of 2023.

We say: Rangers 2-0 Kilmarnock

On the back of suffering his first defeat as Rangers boss, it remains to be seen how Clement will react in terms of team selection. Nevertheless, faced with one of the form teams in the division, Rangers should come out firing and earn a much-needed three points.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Ross County vs. Aberdeen (Tuesday, 3.00pm)

Separated by one point in the Scottish Premiership table, Ross County and Aberdeen meet at Victoria Park on Tuesday.

The visitors sit just above their hosts and have a game in hand, before both sides' first fixture of 2024 - and the last before Scotland's winter break.

We say: Ross County 1-1 Aberdeen

Both teams saw the closing stages of 2023 disrupted by bad weather, but they responded to those circumstances very differently at the weekend. While Aberdeen were rusty, Ross County impressed in Edinburgh, so the hosts may hold out for another point on Tuesday.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

St Mirren vs. Celtic (Tuesday, 5.00pm)

Celtic travel to Paisley for their final Scottish Premiership outing in three-and-a-half weeks, when they face St Mirren at the SMISA Stadium on Tuesday.

Brendan Rodgers's side will be in jubilant spirits after another Old Firm victory in their final game of 2023 on Saturday, and will look to maintain a comfortable lead at the top here.

We say: St Mirren 0-3 Celtic

Celtic have recorded some big wins in Paisley over the past few years, and St Mirren are often favourable opponents, and this fixture should prove no different.

Despite a positive return to form at the weekend, this is not the ideal fixture the hosts would have wanted to follow up with, and a difficult evening could be in store against the league leaders.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
