Jesse Lingard hails sense of togetherness in England Under-21s camp

England Under-21s forward Jesse Lingard believes that the strong sense of togetherness inside the camp was clear to see during Sunday's win over Sweden in Olomouc.

Jesse Lingard has talked up the team spirit in the England Under-21s camp following Sunday evening's late 1-0 win over Sweden at the U21 European Championships.

The Manchester United forward was brought off the bench to save the Young Lions, scoring five minutes from time in Olomouc to keep his side's hopes on track.

Defeat against Portugal in their opening game left England on the brink of an early exit, but Lingard believes that the sense of togetherness has remained high in the camp.

"We're a tight-knit squad and everyone from the bench made an impact, everyone who started gave us encouragement when we came on the pitch," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"Nobody out of the camp really knows what we're about and that showed."

England face Italy in their final group game on Wednesday evening.
