Everton manager David Moyes says that his team will need luck in the draws if they are to win the FA Cup this season.

David Moyes has insisted that his Everton team will need to be lucky if they are to win the FA Cup this season.

The Scottish manager fielded a strong team as his side defeated League Two outfit Cheltenham Town 5-1 in round three of the competition at Whaddon Road last night.

Speaking after the match to Sports Mole, Moyes admitted that "good draws" will help aid Everton's chances of winning the FA Cup for the first time since 1995.

"We would [like to win it], but the draws sort of make the decision. As you know, if you get good draws it can help you but if you get bad draws it can make winning any cup competition hard," he said. "I think we've got a tough draw in the next round whether it is away to Sunderland or Bolton. It's really tough.

"We're only in one competition. Obviously we're in the league, but it's just the one cup. It's not as if we've got the Champions League or Europa League football.

"Hopefully we can cope with those extras game and let's hope there are extra games because that means we keep getting through."

Moyes has not won a trophy during his 10-year stint in charge at Goodison Park.
