Everton striker Richarlison says that he is disappointed not to be called up to the Brazil squad for next month's friendlies against the United States and El Salvador

Everton striker Richarlison has said that he is disappointed not to be called up to the Brazil squad for September's friendlies against the United States and El Salvador, after scoring three goals in the opening two Premier League games of the season.

Brazil boss Tite picked Liverpool's Roberto Firmino, Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus and Barcelona's Neymar as his three strikers for the international double-header.

Richarlison, 21, told UOL Esporte: "I was really looking forward to the call for Friday. I watched with great anticipation, but unfortunately it was not this time.

"I can not say why [I have not been called], there are 24 names and it's difficult for the coach to choose, I'll keep working to be on the next list.

"I feel more prepared, I already know the rhythm and style of the Premier League, which helps me on the way to the achievements. I want to be the top scorer of the league, take Everton back to the Champions League and therefore reach the Brazilian national team."

Richarlison signed for Everton during the summer transfer window in a £40m deal from Watford.
