A report claims that Wayne Rooney left Everton's training ground early on Friday afternoon, soon after it was confirmed that DC United are interested in signing him.

Wayne Rooney reportedly departed Everton's training ground while the rest of his teammates trained, as talk of a move to DC United continues to gather pace.

The former England captain is understood to have already agreed a deal in principle with the Major League Soccer side over a move worth £300,000 a week in wages.

Toffees boss Sam Allardyce confirmed on Friday morning that United have made contact and, shortly after those comments were made, Sky Sports News reports that Rooney left the club's Finch Farm HQ.

Rooney left at around midday, despite the rest of the Everton squad being put through their paces in one their final training sessions of the season.

The Merseyside outfit head to West Ham United on Sunday afternoon for their last match of the 2017-18 campaign.
