James McFadden has arrived at Everton's training ground as the striker nears a return to the club, according Sky Sports News.
Manager David Moyes confirmed last week that he had held initial discussions with the 28-year-old, although he was not hopeful of securing the player's signature.
However, it now appears that McFadden has chosen to rejoin the club that he left in 2008.
He had previously been linked with moves to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Celtic since his contract with Birmingham City expired during the summer.
