Joaquin: 'Fiorentina were not clinical enough'

Joaquin says that Fiorentina can be happy with their achievements this season, despite being knocked out of the Europa League by Sevilla.

Fiorentina winger Joaquin has claimed that his side failed to make the most of their chances in their Europa League semi-final tie with Sevilla.

The Viola suffered a 3-0 defeat in last week's first leg and they were dumped out of the tournament after falling to 2-0 loss in Florence this evening.

"We had a wonderful campaign and are happy with our work," Joaquin told Sport Mediaset. "Unfortunately in these two games we were not clinical enough in front of goal, whereas Sevilla were able to finalise almost all their scoring opportunities.

"We worked hard to reach the final, but didn't get there. They are a great side and we really gave all we had.

"Now we must look to Serie A, as there are three very important games left and we must qualify for the next Europa League."

Fiorentina will return to action next Monday with a Serie A clash against Parma.
