France boss Didier Deschamps has admitted that he is wary of the "quality" that Switzerland boast ahead of tonight's World Cup clash in Salvador.

Coach Ottmar Hitzfeld has helped propel the Swiss up to sixth in the FIFA world rankings as the German led his team into the finals without losing a game in qualifying.

Along with an impressive showing in the preliminary stages, Switzerland also beat host nation Brazil in a friendly last August, and Deschamps is well aware of the danger that today's opposition has in their ranks.

"Switzerland is a team with a lot of quality. They have qualified easily in their group and did very well in their friendly games," the Les Blues trainer told a press conference.

"In their last 10 games, they won seven times and drew twice and had only one defeat against South Korea. They beat Brazil."

Both nations managed a victory in their opening Group E encounters, with France easing past Honduras last Sunday, while Hitzfeld and co needed a last-gasp goal from Haris Seferovic in order to beat Ecuador.

Tonight's encounter is scheduled to kick off at 8pm.
