Hugo Lloris: 'Nobody wants to face France'

Hugo Lloris says that nobody will fancy facing France in the playoffs for a spot at the World Cup.

Captain Hugo Lloris believes that nations will fear the possibility of facing France in a World Cup playoff.

Les Bleus are almost certain to finish second in Group C behind holders Spain, which means that they will have to come through a two-legged fixture against a fellow runner-up.

Ahead of their clash with Finland on Tuesday night, Lloris feels that France's recent form will have sent a message of warning to any potential opponent in the knockout stage.

"It's important to create a positive dynamic for our confidence," Lloris told reporters. "And it's also a means of preparing for the playoff.

"You can do what you like before, however. The important thing is to be there when it matters.

"It makes things more difficult not to be seeds, but we have to deal with it. It also shows us the work we still have to do even if I don't think anyone wants to be drawn against France."

France could meet Portugal, Sweden, Greece or Croatia in the playoff.
