Martin Jol: 'Fulham future out of my hands'

Martin Jol concedes that his future as Fulham manager is "not in [his] hands" after the Cottagers slumped to their fifth straight defeat to West Ham today.

Fulham manager Martin Jol has said that the issue of whether or not he remains in charge at Craven Cottage is "not in [his] hands".

The Cottagers slumped to their fifth successive defeat with a 3-0 loss to West Ham United at Upton Park, with goals from Mohamed Diame, Carlton Cole and Joe Cole piling the pressure on the Dutchman.

The former Ajax coach's future in West London has been cast in doubt this season and, asked whether or not he would be in charge for Wednesday's clash with Tottenham Hotspur - his former club - Jol replied: "It's not in my hands. If I have to worry, I was probably worried a couple of months ago because it's not from one day to the other, the last two months we've been inconsistent.

"I think it worked out for me. We had over 100 points, we had more than West Ham over the last couple of years. But over the last couple of months, sometimes, we have not been strong enough."

Wednesday's clash at White Hart Lane is scheduled to kick off at 8pm.
