Sam Allardyce hails 'big win'

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce says that his side's victory over Fulham this afternoon was a big result for the club.

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has hailed his side's 3-0 victory over Fulham this afternoon, claiming that the result was a big win for the Hammers.

West Ham grabbed a much-needed victory over travelling Fulham, thanks to goals from Mohamed Diame, Carlton Cole and Joe Cole.

"It was a big win for us. The pressure is always on when you don't get results and slide towards the bottom three," Allardyce told BBC Sport.

"When you come up against your nearest rivals in the table, with both sides on 10 points, it is a six-pointer so putting three points between us and Fulham is obviously a very healthy situation for us."

The win leaves Allardyce's men in 15th position in the Premier League table.
