Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has claimed that the club have reached an agreement to sign Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino.
The 29-year-old World Cup-winner moved to the Florence club from AC Milan during summer 2008.
"Tomorrow (Thursday) the signing of Gilardino for Genoa will be made official," Preziosi told Sky Sport Italia.
"We do not yet have Fiorentina's signature on the deal, but there is an agreement in place and it will become official.
"To Fiorentina will go €8m [£6.7m], with the player signing a four-and-a-half-year contract."
Preziosi added that the Florence club would sign Catania striker Maxi Lopez to replace Gilardino.
