Euro 2024 today: Who is playing? How to watch? What to look out for?

Sports Mole rounds up everything you need to know about today's Euro 2024 action, including fixtures, predicted lineups, how to watch and the best storylines.

Mere weeks after a gruelling domestic season concluded for the continent's most celebrated talents, 24 teams and over 600 players are now going again with Euro 2024 supremacy at stake.

Only three years have passed since Italy's exhilarating run to glory at the delayed Euro 2020 tournament, culminating in their penalty-shootout success over England at Wembley in the final, and the Azzurri are present in Germany to defend their crown after their World Cup 2022 failure.

However, the likes of England, France, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands and hosts Germany are among the leading contenders to dethrone Italy as kings of Europe, where the new continental champions will be crowned in Berlin on July 14.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up everything you need to know about today's Euro 2024 action, including which teams are in action, how to watch and what to keep a particular eye out for.

TODAY'S EURO 2024 FIXTURES

Georgia vs. Czech Republic (2pm | Volksparkstadion)
Turkey vs. Portugal (5pm | BVB Stadion Dortmund)
Belgium vs. Romania (8pm | Cologne Stadium)

Group F is the place to be for Friday's opening two fixtures, with Georgia and Czech Republic first in action, and the pair will be looking to bounce back from defeats in their opening matches of the competition.

Following that 2pm kickoff, the standout game of the day takes place, with Portugal facing Turkey, and both sides have three points to show for their efforts thus far.

The action will conclude with a Group E fixture, as Belgium take on Romania; the latter are currently top of the section on three points, while the former sit at the bottom on zero points.

HOW TO WATCH TODAY'S EURO 2024 ACTION

Georgia's battle with Czech Republic will be shown on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport Website from 1.30pm until 4.15pm.

Portugal's meeting with Turkey will then be streamed on ITV 1, ITVX, STV and the STV Player from 4.15pm to 7.10pm, with Belgium against Romania then running on the same channels from 7.10pm until 10.30pm

WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR IN TODAY'S EURO 2024 MATCHES

Georgia vs. Czech Republic

Both Georgia and Czech Republic are under pressure to pick up positive results on Saturday, having been beaten in their section openers last time out. Indeed, Georgia lost 3-1 to Turkey, while Czech Republic suffered a last-gasp loss to Portugal.

As a result, Czech Republic will be unable to reach the round of 16 if they lose to Georgia and Turkey do not lose to Portugal. Meanwhile, Georgia will be unable to progress if they lose to Czech Republic and Portugal do not lose to Turkey.

Georgia will once again be looking to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for inspiration on Saturday, and there were positives to take from their clash with Turkey last time out.

Czech Republic can also take plenty of encouragement from their clash against Portugal, and in Patrik Schick, they have a player who has scored five times at the finals of the European Championship.

Comfortably the standout fixture on Saturday sees Turkey and Portugal lock horns in Group F. If Turkey beat Portugal and Czech Republic do not beat Georgia, then Vincenzo Montella's side will be through to the last-16 stage of the competition as group winners.

Meanwhile, Portugal will be through to the knockout round as section winners if they beat Turkey and Georgia do not overcome Czech Republic.

In truth, four points will almost certainly be enough to see both advance, so it would not be a surprise to see a tight match on Saturday.

Cristiano Ronaldo will be bidding to continue his search for more records at Euro 2024, but this Turkey outfit certainly packs a punch, with Montella able to call upon a host of talent, including Real Madrid youngster Arda Guler.

Sitting bottom of Group E, Belgium are under huge pressure to pick up a positive result against a Romania side that occupy first position in the section on three points.

Belgium opened their Euro 2024 campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Slovakia, while Romania recorded a 3-0 victory over Ukraine to place themselves in a strong position to reach the next round.

Romania were hugely impressive in their first match at the tournament, and a win over Belgium would see them advance to the last-16 stage of the competition.

Belgium cannot be ruled out of contention with a loss in this match, but it would place them in a very difficult position heading into their final fixture.

Romelu Lukaku struggled in the clash with Slovakia, but Belgium will be looking to their all-time leading goalscorer to provide some inspiration in this contest.

WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY AT EURO 2024?

The first goalless draw of Euro 2024 took place on Friday evening, with Netherlands and France sharing the points. The result has not guaranteed either a spot in the knockout round, but it is incredibly difficult to imagine a scenario where four points is not enough for both sides to advance.

Xavi Simons thought that he had sent Netherlands ahead in the second period, only for the in-demand attacker's effort to be controversially disallowed for offside.

There was no Kylian Mbappe for France, with the soon-to-be Real Madrid attacker given the night off, having broken his nose during the team's campaign opener against Austria.

Speaking of Austria, Ralf Rangnick's side recorded an impressive 3-1 victory over Poland, who have now been officially eliminated from Euro 2024. Austria, though, are third in Group F on three points, just one point behind both Netherlands and France with one match left.

Ukraine, meanwhile, came from behind to beat Slovakia 2-1 in the early match. Ukraine are now second in Group E on three points, level with leaders Romania and third-placed Slovakia, with Belgium sitting at the bottom of the section ahead of their huge game against Romania.
