Hoffenheim draw with Schalke 04 from two behind

Hoffenheim and Schalke draw 3-3 in the Bundesliga after the visitors were 3-1 ahead.

Hoffenheim have come back from 3-1 down to claim a point in an exciting encounter against Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga.

Kevin-Prince Boateng immediately justified the decision to play him as the lone striker as he was found by Max Meyer and fired high into the net in the third minute.

In the 13th minute Joel Matip made it 2-0 when he reacted quickest to Jefferson Farfan's inswinging free kick to head in.

The next goal was key and fortunately for the hosts it went their way and was just three minutes after Schalke's second. Anthony Modeste made no mistake with his close-range finish.

Five minutes before the break Schalke restored their two-goal advantage as Marco Hoger tapped in from close range after being found by Dennis Aogo.

Almost as soon as the second half started Aogo brought down Kevin Volland in the box and Roberto Firmino stepped up to reduce the deficit once more.

This time they managed to level it as David Abraham hit a low free kick into the corner, but there was to be no winner and the points were shared.
