Inter fined for racist chants during Milan derby

Inter Milan are fined €50,000 (£41,000) and given a partial stadium ban for racist chanting towards Mario Balotelli during the Milan derby last Sunday.

Inter Milan have been fined €50,000 (£41,000) and given a partial stadium ban for racist chanting towards Mario Balotelli during Sunday's Milan derby.

The AC Milan striker was targeted by Inter fans at the San Siro as his side earned a 1-0 win in the Serie A clash.

"The Nerazzurri supporters on five occasions during the first half of the game directed chants of racial discrimination at Mario Balotelli," the Lega Serie A said in a statement. "The same fans directed anti-Naples chants in the first half."

Inter will close part of their stadium for their final home game of the season against Lazio on Saturday.
